We did not have to invent the traditional Kickdown, but in our team's spirit, we enhanced your Tesla with it!
This week's presentation showcases the Kickdown Smart Action for a better Tesla experience. It is currently available for Model S/X 2021+ and for all Model 3/Y supported by our Commander.
*if you prefer to watch a short video on how this automation works, check out the clip below:**What does it do:**
Tesla vehicles do not have a Kickdown option. Without this Smart Action, pressing the acceleration pedal fully will lead to an acceleration in the mode you are currently driving. So, if you are in Chill Mode, you will stay and accelerate slowly as it was designed to be in this mode.
We have developed a Smact Action for those who drive in Chill mode but would like to get quick acceleration from Standard/Sport Mode when a situation requires it.
By pressing the accelerator pedal down fully [while in Chill mode], you will initiate a switch to Standard/Sport [or PLAID if you have it], enabling your car's maximum available power.**How to make it work:**
To access the Smart Action settings, go to the S3XY application while connected to your Commander, then access the Commander menu on the bottom of the home screen, and from there, open Kickdown. Once enabled, you can select at what position the accelerator pedal should be pressed when the shift from Chill to Standard/Sport should happen. For example, 95 would mean you pressed it down almost to the floor.**Side note:**
**Additional information:**
1. Based on your feedback, we can consider further enhancements for this Smart Action, but note that not all suggestions are feasible for development.
2. The change of the modes Chill to Standard/Sport is visualized only in our Dashboard and cannot be synchronized with the main display for the moment.
Remember to email us your feedback on this and any other Smart Action you use at [email protected] so we can improve it for more Tesla owners.
Keep following our Blog, where we aim to publish a light-read article once a week based on the feedback received and include real-life examples.
