Door Handles: a Smart Action for Models 3 & Y

The Smart Action: Door Handles is the first we added to the list of our unique automated features that unlock a new set of actions to your Tesla Model 3 & Y.

This feature is meant to help those who want to open their Frunk or unlock their Chargeport without needing to go inside the car or pull out their smartphone every time. 

**Open Frunk:**

You can program your front left/right door handles to open your Frunk by pulling and holding them for between 2 and 10 seconds. That way, you can place your bags inside the front compartment without entering your vehicle.

Note: Model 3 cars built before June 2022 might have the option to execute the same action by Half Pressing on the handle.

**Unlock Chargeport:**

We have added a second feature to the Door Handles Smart Action, but this time, it is to the rear doors.

By Long-Pulling on your rear left handle, you can unlock the charging cable from the Chargeport without pulling out your phone each time. It is a handy feature when charging at a non-Tesla charging station or at home. 

Note: Enabling the option only to have this feature active when your car is Unlocked will prevent others from playing with your cable when you are not around.  

**Security:**

Safety and security have always been our top priority to make you feel safe! We have added an extra security layer to this Smart Action where your Frunk will not open when you are away, and your car is Locked. That way, no one can open it except you.
